About

With over 15 years in the beauty and wellness industry, Duygu Demir, known as Dee, brings a deeply intuitive and compassionate approach to healing. Her journey into Chinese medicine began with a personal transformation: after struggling with digestive issues, she found instant relief through acupuncture, sparking a lifelong passion for holistic medicine and its power to support body, mind and spirit.

Duygu holds a three-year, degree-level Licentiate qualification from the City College of Acupuncture, where she studied under some of the UK’s most respected teachers. This training focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) while also covering key areas of Western medicine including anatomy, physiology and pathology to support a well-rounded, integrated approach to care. She is currently expanding her skillset with a diploma in Tui Na, a blend of body and energy work, and also offers Reiki as part of her integrated approach.

She is a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), remaining committed to clinical excellence, ongoing learning and the highest standards of safety and ethical practice.

Approach

Duygu’s thoughtful and intuitive approach is rooted in her belief that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Known for her ability to truly listen, she tailors each treatment to meet her patients exactly where they are on the day. Her goal is always to restore balance, alleviate discomfort and support long-term wellbeing. Her calm presence, expert knowledge and intuitive care create a safe space for healing and restoration.

“Duygu really takes the time to listen, and she has an incredible ability to pinpoint exactly what I needed on the day.”

Chinese medicine is one of the world’s oldest systems of healthcare, with its roots stretching back thousands of years. Drawing on wisdom and techniques from China, Japan and Korea, it continues to evolve while supporting people’s health in modern times.

What makes Chinese medicine unique is its holistic approach. Instead of simply addressing isolated symptoms, it works to rebalance the whole system, helping the body restore its own equilibrium and promoting long-term wellbeing. Alongside acupuncture, Duygu uses gua sha, cupping, tui na, and dietary therapy to restore harmony and support the body’s natural healing ability.

Recognised by the World Health Organisation as a safe and effective treatment for over 100 different conditions, Chinese medicine can treat:

  • Acute or chronic pain

  • Digestive issues

  • Women’s health

  • Fertility

  • Skin disorders

  • Hayfever & allergies

  • Musculoskeletal (MSK) problems

  • Insomnia

  • Anxiety

  • Stress

  • Autoimmune conditions

If you’re unsure whether your symptoms can be supported with acupuncture and Chinese medicine, feel free to contact Duygu.
